Birding Outing at Lautenbach Woods & Kangaroo Lake

May 18 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

$10

Warbler birding event

Sharpen your bird identification skills and discover the birds that call Door County home. Join Daniel Edelstein and the Door County Land Trust for an expert-led birding experience. Wildlife biologist Daniel Edelstein is a consulting avian biologist and birding guide. He has led birding tours for more than 25 years, conducted public birding presentations in more than 20 states, and co-led field trips for the annual Wisconsin Society for Ornithology conference. Daniel has also taught adult birding classes at Merritt College in Oakland, CA since 2003.

Daniel’s website — WarblerWatch.com — hosts several birding handouts (via the “Birding Links” pulldown menu) and his Warbler-centric blog — warblerwatch.blogspot.com — has hosted Warbler articles and photo quizzes since 2007.

For this birding outing, we will meet at Lautenbach Woods Nature Preserve and then caravan in our own vehicles to Kangaroo Lake Nature Preserve. Hiking involves easy-to-moderate terrain with inclines along bluff slopes. We’ll keep a slow pace with our eyes and ears open for the birds around us!

Please bring your own binoculars if you have them, as we will only have a few available to those who need them. Snacks will be provided but bring your own water bottle.

$10 per person • Open to the Public
