Discover Oak Bluff Natural Area: A New DCLT Protected Place
June 15 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Discover the Land Trust’s newest natural area in southern Door, the 118-acre Oak Bluff Natural Area whose 150’ Niagara Escarpment bluffs tower over 1700 feet of undeveloped Green Bay shoreline. This beautiful property hosts an old growth forest of red and white oak, sugar maple, white and red pine, hemlock, and American beech and provides critical habitat for migratory and nesting birds, wildlife, and fish. While roughly half of the property is wooded, the remainder of the property once in agriculture will be restored in upcoming years to native grassland and forest to protect the water quality of the surface and groundwater that flows off these lands into Green Bay and provide additional wildlife habitat.
