This program provides an in-depth look at the island’s unique geology, shaped by millions of years of natural processes. Discover the rock formations and other geological features that tell the story of the island’s formation and its place in the region’s geological history.
What to Expect:
- Guided Exploration: Led by knowledgeable naturalists, gain insights into the flora and fauna of the area, as well as the ecological significance of the preserve.
- Introduction to Island Geology: Learn about the geological processes that shaped Washington Island, from glaciation to erosion, and how these forces have created the landscape seen today.
- Scenic Trails: Traverse picturesque trails that wind down the rocky topography of the area.
